ROSA PARKS
Rosa Parks was born in 1913 in Alabama. She was frequently confronted with racial discrimination throughout her life and got involved in the civil rights movement at a young age. In 1955, when she was 42, she refused to give up her seat on the bus because she was sick of the injustice. The Montgomery Bus Boycott followed soon after, and she was jailed. She continued to fight for civil rights until her death in 2005.
