ADA LOVELACE
Ada Lovelace was born in England in 1815 to a poet father and a mathematics-loving mother. As a child, Lovelace’s mother had her tutored in mathematics, science, and logic and she became intrigued by machines. This enthusiasm followed her into adulthood when she met Charles Babbage, who came up with a plan for the first computer, called the analytical engine. After studying his work, Ada became the first person to write a computer algorithm and discovered that a computer could program anything that could be translated into numbers.
