AMELIA EARHART
Amelia Earhart was born in 1897 in Kansas. During World War 1, Earhart worked in a military hospital and became interested in flying. She bought her first plane at 25 years old. Her first jobs in flying were at air shows, and then she continued on to become the first woman to pilot a plane solo across the Atlantic. In 1937, Earhart started a journey to become the first woman to fly around the world. Unfortunately, the plane lost radio contact and was never found.
