Talent and Crew

The roots of Here's to Now begin back in 2014, when three Mexican-American teenagers from a small town came together with a couple guitars, a drum kit, and a hard core love for music. Being the ONLY metal band in a sea of country and Tejano music in Snyder, Texas (population 11,368), these guys were ready to stand tall and make a name for themselves.

The band, originally consisting of Joseph Hernandez (bass/vocals), Pete Martinez (guitar), and David Rios (drums), formed with the modest intention of just being able to perform at the local “school talent showcase.” After achieving this humble goal, the passion shared amongst the trio expanded into a full fledged need to one day, write, record, and tour full time, as a band. A dream they are currently chasing.

A few years (and many shows) later, the band was ready to take their music to the next level, and they made the biggest decision of their life. They loaded their gear into a pickup truck, and with nothing but a few bucks in their pocket, they hit the open road. Their destination was Los Angeles, California, a place where they could share their music with audiences of all cultures and backgrounds.

In 2019, Here's to Now recorded their debut release, Mindfulness, with producer Nick Morzov (Chon, Animals as Leaders), and went on to release the EP in March of 2020, just as the lockdown began.

Despite the absence of live music, the band made waves virtually and their EP garnered over half a million streams collectively on Spotify. Their single, "Rose Gold," rose above and beyond their expectations, showcasing the band's efforts while paying homage to their influences, such as Dance Gavin Dance and Circa Survive.

In 2021, Here's to Now introduced another childhood friend who was already living in Los Angeles, Chris Labasbas, as rhythm guitarist. They have since released "Thieves" with producer Jayden Seeley of With Confidence (Zach Hood, State Champs, Set It Off), and are getting ready to release their new single and music video for "Control," later this October.

The band is currently writing their debut album to be recorded in early 2023, with Seeley, to be released in the spring while continuing to perform throughout Southern California.
